Aul’ Kirkers, Free Kirkers and UPs in Marnoch 1792-1992, by Bob Peden

This 48 page A4 book was written in 1992 as part of celebrations for the bicentenary of Old Marnoch Church and the 150th Anniversary of the opening of New Marnoch Church as the first Free Church in Scotland, fully a year before the Disruption brought the formation of the Free Church of Scotland.

The book traces the story of the division of Marnoch Presbyterians into Established Church, Free Church and United Presbyterian congregations, and deals in particular with the events and results of the walkout at Marnoch in 1841 which put the parish into the national headlines.

The book also deals with the important part played by the Presbyterian churches in the daily life of the parish, and the gradual process of reunion during the 20th Century which has left Marnoch once again with a single Presbyterian congregation.

All profits go to New Marnoch Church.

Available from £3.50 (UK) inclusive of p&p
